This is an intermediate level course which will develop clinical competence in using EMDR through didactic presentations, demonstrations, and supervised practicum
Clinicians finish feeling competent in using EMDR, in case conceptualization, treatment implementation and integration into practice
This intensive covers Parts 1&2 of EMDR Training, which consists of 20 hours of didactic learning and 20 hours of supervised practicum
The required 10 hours of consultation will be completed after the course on the participant's own time and the days/times will be scheduled during the course. They are included in the price of the course, however, no continuing education credit is given for those 10 hours
Participants must complete the entire requirements of the training (40 hour course and 10 hours of consultation) within 12 months of the initial start date of the course

Participants may be licensed, or if not licensed, have completed masters level coursework in a mental health discipline, currently be in a licensure track and supervised by a licensed clinician. If you are a a graduate student in a mental health field (second year students only) you must include a copy of your transcripts, practicum or internship details and letter from your supervisor which includes the supervisor's license information and number stating you may take the course and will have clients with whom you will be able to use EMDR.
REQUIRED READING: The required text is Shapiro, F. (2017). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols and Procedures. Guilford Press, NY, 3rd edition. The Live Interactive Webinar requires passing a post test. There are no continuing education credits given for reading the book
Participants must have a current active psychotherapy caseload. In order to complete this course, you must have a caseload so you can participate in the 10 consultation calls
You must attend all of the days of the course and must sign in and out to verify attendance. You must participate in the practicum portion of the class and complete an evaluation at the end. All participants taking the Live Interactive Online Course must complete and pass a posttest
Timing – Personal: Understand that during the supervised practice sessions you will be using your personal experiences. If you are not willing or are not able to share your experiences due to medical or emotional stability, you should not take the course at this time
Timing - Professional: If you are not currently working with clients or will not have the opportunity in the very near future, you should consider taking this course at a later time. The skills learned require practice and you will be required to discuss cases during the consultation upon completion of the course

Participants must refrain from taking pictures or audio/videotaping during all portions of the training
• Qualifying Medical Doctors must be licensed to practice in their state or province. • Qualifying Advanced Practice Registered Nurses must have a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing and must be licensed to practice through their state board or province. • Qualifying Mental Health Clinicians must have a Master's Degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and be licensed to practice through their state board or province.
• Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. First year graduate students are not eligible. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician. • Graduate students who would like to take an EMDR Training will need to submit certain documentation (graduate transcript, practicum or internship details, and a letter from their supervisor which includes the supervisor's license information and number and states that you may take the course and will have clients with whom you will be able to use EMDR). Students do not need to provide EMDRIA with any documentation unless specifically asked to do so by EMDRIA staff. Any documentation that needs to be submitted would go directly to the training provider either prior to or during the training registration process.
• These are clinicians who are actively pursuing a mental health license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor. Some of these license types may include: associate, intern, limited, provisional, temporary and pre-license. • Qualifying Pre-Licensed Mental Health Clinicians must have a Master's Degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and must be actively pursuing a full license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor.
